The Least Among You [DVD]

The least Among You is a movie based on true historical events that took place in the 1960’s Watts Riots.

The main character Richard Kelly, (Cedric Sanders) agrees in a plea bargain to go to seminary after being charged for attacking a police officer. At seminary he meets a garden keeper (Louis Gossett Jr) who helps him find his way during his ordeal. At this all white seminary Richard Kelly is recruited by the seminar’s president as a face for face and integration.

The movie has a compelling story and although it is not a Hollywood blockbuster it’s an indie movie that caries a positive message and was portrayed beautifully. I enjoyed Louis Gossett Jr showing a gentle side of his acting playing as a spiritually sound garden gatekeeper.

Although I liked the way the story there are some scenes that played rather amateur or under rehearsed and a few scenes lacked information leaving some loose ends…

I personally like movies that are based on true stories and I’m glad I watch The least Among You

What made the original Toy Story so great, besides its significant achievement as the first-ever feature-length computer animated film, was its ability to instantly transport viewers into a magical world where it seemed completely plausible that toys were living, thinking beings who sprang to life the minute they were alone and wanted nothing more than to be loved and played with by their children. Toy Story 3 absolutely succeeds in the very same thing--adults and children alike, (read more)

Outlive your Life by Max Lucado

Once I started reading Outlive your Life by Max Lucado I couldn’t stop. It will grab your attention very quickly.

Outlive your Life will encourage you to make a difference. It gives numerous examples on how a single person can have great impact for generations.

Today we live in a world of 1.75 billion poor people and 1 billions of them are in extremely hungry. This statistics put you in the right perspective.

If we all get “unshell” and open our hearts to compassion there is no doubt we can make a difference in people’s lives.

Full of stories, anecdotes and personal experiences that will probably make you cry (I did) you will receive a boost of “I want to make a difference” type of attitude.

People that profess being a Christian will be challenged to serve like Jesus to his target audience: the poor, brokenhearted, captives, blind and oppressed, instead of ‘playing’ the ‘church game’ and forgetting were we came from by labeling and excluding people instead of including. A quote I really liked was: “God cannot be localized, He has no address, No one has a monopoly on Him. No temple can contain Him”

You will find the story of Max Lucado before becoming THE Max Lucado we know today and how a “NOBODY’ was critical for us even being discussing this book. Look for pages 138-139. It was very moving to me.

This is a great book and the best thing about it is that is very practical. At the end of the book you will find discussion and action guide that will help you put the knowledge in action. More knowledgeable people are just a waste! We need to take ACTION!

The Butterfly Effect: How Your Life Matters by Andy Andrews

I couldn’t wait to tell you about The Butterfly Effect: How Your Life Matters by Andy Andrews. This illustrated book WILL change the way you see your life. The author presents stories of people that were critical for historical events in a different way.

The Butterfly Effect is a short book that you can read in 10-15 minutes and you won’t regret it. Don’t judge a book by its length. It’s content is not only great but very well presented. The images are very helpful to get into the stories. If you are still reading this review you are out of your mind!

This book will lift your spirit and help you see yourself in a big picture. It will help you realize the role you play and how your life matters.

This is a great gift to anyone! Read it regularly! It’s very inspiring!
