"Walk Like You Have Somewhere To Go” by Lucille O’Neal

The title of this book caught my attention immediately and I decided to review “Walk Like You Have Somewhere To Go” by Lucille O’Neal with Allison Samuels. Lucille O’Neal is the mother of sport icon Shaquille O’Neal and in this book she shares her life in a very organic way. This book will grasp your attention very quickly. The writing style and the size of each chapter are perfect. Two thumbs up to Allison Samuel for her excellent work.

This book tells her story and shows the process she went through to change “From Mental Welfare to Mental Health”. I think we can all relate to her story because she not only shares the facts of her life, she also open her heart in a very sincere way. Her story is very inspiring and gives insight into social, moral & cultural issues. One of the stories that really impacted me was the one she shares in chapter 6 about Rev. Hartsfield and how this spiritual leader has impacted her life until these day. You will have to read it to know what I mean.

I’m very glad I picked this book to review and I hope you get the chance to read it as well.

Kaleidoscope by Patsy Clairmont, SRivera's review

Kaleidoscope by Patsy Clairmont promises to hold the book of Proverbs up to the light and find inspiring reflections of the divine to bring clarity to women in the current world. I was very excited to review this book, I agree with the writer about the appealing aspect of the book of Proverbs for the direct approach. I was intrigued to find the writers new light. In the first chapter Clairmont proposes that her book will offer a kaleidoscopic approach by sharing her insight into thirty two verses of the book of Proverbs. At the end of every short chapter the author offers follow up questions that can be good for group discussion.

Like I said, I was very excited to review this book because I love the book of Proverbs. I felt like the author was sharing her life experiences and wasn't successful in tying them to the exquisite wisdom presented in the book of the wisest man who ever lived. In many cases, I had to check the Proverb which the author was supposed to give light into. I loved the name of the book and in chapter 13 her insight regarding the rubies and the Smithsonian Museum. I certainly enjoy books with more interesting facts like that one in this book. With all this said I can't recommend this book, you may want to read it from a library and then decide if the author's approach resonates with your personality.
